Samal Island To See More Real Estate Dev’t In 2010

THE Island Garden City of Samal is set to witness major real estate development year.

In a story published in Sun.Star Davao on April 5, real estate giant Filinvest Land Incorporated will now venture into the highly in-demand condominium development in southern Mindanao.

While all the other real estate developments are venturing into the medium rise development in Davao City, Filinvest takes the lead once again by constructing the first condominium project in IGaCoS.

The project will be located on the front area of its luxurious Kembali coast project.

IGaCoS Vies For Model Barangay Bagsakan Tilt

A BARANGAY BASED food depot in the Island Garden City of Samal, popularly known as the “barangay bagsakan”, is vying for the National Search for Model Barangay Bagsakan after making it to the regional level.

Barangay Aumbay Bagsakan of IGaCoS bested 58 other bagsakan centers in the Davao Region.

DTI Turn-over 77 Computers To IGaCoS Public High Schools

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) RXI in partnership with Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) together with the Department of Education (DepEd) and local government of Island Garden City of Samal (IGaCoS) representatives turned over seventy-seven computers to seven public secondary schools in the Island City last week.

HOISTING the Philippine flag in the just-concluded 11th Asean+ Age-Group Championships at the Traveler's Hotel, Subic Freeport in Olongapo City, was his sweetest victory thus far.

Aglipay Arceno Oberio, who hails from the Island Garden City of Samal (Igacos), shared: "I'm so happy to win a gold medal and a silver for Team Philippines. It was my first-ever international competition. I'm so glad to have made my school, city and country proud."

J.O., as he wanted to be called, annexed a blitz team gold and a standard team silver in boys under-16 category.
