IT'S going to be an uphill battle for 13-year-old Christian Fel Lopez of the Island Garden City of Samal (Igacos) when he dons the country's colors to the 2012 ITF World Junior Tennis Competition slated February 20 to 25 in Kuching, Malaysia.

 

En-En received a letter dated January 18 from Philippine Tennis Association (Philta) head coach Chris Cuarto who congratulated him for being part of the Malaysian-bound Team Philippines.

City Mayor ANIANO P. ANTALAN of the Island Garden City of Samal in his New Year’s message to all the Department Heads of the Local Government conducted today declared that he will not reappoint employees who are publicly known to be engaged in immoral relationships / engaged in adultery and concubinage. “I don’t want to be a party to their sinful ways by the act of condoning their sinful ways through their reappointment in the city government. I don’t want to be held accountable to God for doing so. We have just recieved the award of the Seal of Good Housekeeping and we have to be good including this aspect in our public service”, the Mayor quoted saying.

ISLAND GARDEN CITY OF SAMAL, Dec. 27 -- The small city island of Samal has extended P1-million donation to victims hit by tropical storm Sendong.

Mayor Aniano P. Antalan of the Island Garden City of Samal (IGaCoS) led the joint meeting of City Peace and Order Council and the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (CDRRMC)which approved the donation of the local government amounting to one million pesos (P 1M) to victims hit by storm Sendong.
