IGACOS Celebrates Farmers Week 2019...

Recognizes the value and essential role of farmers in agriculture and the economic development of the city. The local government of the Island Garden City of Samal celebrates Farmers’ week at Multipurpose Gymnasium, Peñaplata, Samal District. A total of 225 farmers from the three districts gathered and showcased their agricultural products. ”Today we celebrate the farmers, we recognize how important our farmers. They are the one who works for our foods, they feed us. Farming is important and it is the backbone of the economy, ” said City Council Committee Chairperson on Agriculture Jon Aldwin M. Jumao-as. It has been a regular event by the local government through the City Agriculture Office for several years now. City Mayor Al David T. Uy and the employees bought vegetables, fruits, flowers and other agricultural products and the Samal delicacies made by Samaleño. The lined-up activities we're the Gawad Saka Awarding of most outstanding farmer 2019, technology update on artificial insemination on swine and other large animals and organic agriculture, competition on products display and other contest.
